Traditionally, their management has been dominated by Western medicine, which relies on analgesic drugs and conventional therapies. However, the integration of complementary approaches, such as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Psychoneuroimmunoendocrinology (PNIE), is becoming increasingly relevant in the holistic management of diseases.
